Seemal Saeed is a Masters graduate in HR based in Islamabad, Pakistan. In this role as the Engagement Specialist, Seemal Saeed’s main focus has been on amplifying the voice of the Philia Ambassadors. This is done by connecting with them and understanding how strong each of the different communities are and what they may need to improve further.
Seemal joined Philia because of her passion for women’s empowerment. She found that Philia helps create a safe and secure platform for women to find confidence to strive for success.
She has previously worked in the social and corporate sector. Her social sector work gave her the most satisfaction in her professional life. She completed her Bachelor’s with a degree in Economics and Management from the University of London and went on to work as a CSR coordinator in an NGO which focused on children’s education in Pakistan.
Her role as a Research Associate in a Management consultancy firm allowed her to work for women empowerment and gender equality. She was able to gain experience being part of a team that provided training and workshops in different organisations based on these areas. Here she learnt different challenges women face in the workplace in a country like Pakistan and what companies may or may not be doing to help reduce them. Her area of expertise was research and development in this role.
She learnt more about this topic when writing her Masters thesis on Workplace diversity in organisations in Pakistan on which she scored a high distinction and completed her Masters degree from Brunel University, London.
